Nothing shouts rock-n-roll any more than a guitar that covets the guitarists signature and brand of one of the greatest rock bands or artist. Custom signature guitar models are an important part of any guitar makers product selection and allows more credibility and recommendation from the celebrities of today and yesterday that play and recommend their instrument. It is also an important part of the overall marketing process of the manufacturer – but it is an excellent way of selling more products.

Manufactured in Korea, the Epiphone Supernova electric guitar is the signature guitar of Noel Gallagher of the rock band Oasis – the biggest, inspiring, controversial and best pop bands of the last twenty years. Noel is the songwriter that backs Oasis, whist his brother Liam is the controversial front man, featuring heavily in the eye of the paps and infamous for his loud persona, rudeness and general OTT rock star credentials. Oasis are known for tracks such as Don’t look back in anger and Live Forever and their brand of “Brit Pop” and guitar based rock stands the ravages of time and is still influential and relevant to todays stars. Although Oasis are more chilled out now and not as quite as popular, Oasis are continually producing great albums under the direction of Noel – who has said he plans to release a solo album in the future.

The 95 Epiphone Supernova is a custom made designed version of the Epiphone Sheraton, another of Epiphone’s most popular guitars. However, the Supernova you and I can get at the moment is not the same version as the type used by Noel though. For the promotion of the Oasis album, Whats The Story Morning Glory, Oasis were filmed and pictured posing with a custom designed Epiphone Sheraton painted with the Union Jack. Designed to mimic that particular guitar, the public version of this guitar does have a different style, shape and a few crucial changes such as featuring different types of pickup’s, Alnico 57s as opposed to mini humbucker pickups as featured on the original. The original model played by Noel hangs in the O2 arena in England as part of the British Music Experience.

The %KEYWORD1% is no longer made but was designed in several different colors including the famous signature union jack model used by Noel Gallagher. The other colors were sky blue to represent the Manchester City soccer team that Noel follows, Cherry Red and a hard to find Ebony Black version. The guitar features large parallelogram fret markers, a slim, long scale kneck, a rose wood fretboard, an old style vintage tremelo, a laminated and hollow body which allows it to be easy to hold and easier to play. The pickguard has Noel Gallagher’s signature on and also has the Epiphone brand logo.

The %KEYWORD1% generates clear, warm tones that are suitable for rock, jazz or blues. Sounding quite a little like a more expensive Gibson guitar, the %KEYWORD1% will produce the sound you want. The manufacture quality is excellent and should be without manufacturing issues.

The %KEYWORD1% is overall an excellent guitar and well worth buying – especially if you also enjoy Oasis and Noel Gallagher!
