More than ever, now is a time when you need to give some serious thought about how to write a good resume for any UK jobs. The job market is extremely tight and if you want to succeed you need to consider your best attributes.

During times of high unemployment employers struggle to get through the resumes that they receive. I am sure all employers who have UK jobs being advertised will appreciate your consideration. What you need to do is make an effort to ensure that you have a presentable cover letter and a presentable resume.
Can you imagine being an employer with 200 resumes on the desk. You would probably thumb through them quickly and give them an initial glance.

your presentation needs to be clean to catch the attention of the employer, not cluttered with a lot of pretty colours and modern graphics. Keep the presentation simple but bring it to the employer’s attention by the clever use of colour. Just enough to create interest.

THE RESUME
Keep it simple in content and layout. Use headings and keep your details brief. Remember employers will have hundred to go through. List your details in this order, name, contact no, address, objective, attributes, qualifications, list your jobs with most recent first, referees (3 maximum). A resume should be no more than two pages. If you find that you need more because of a lot of qualifications, make it three maximum, and state that you have others which you are happy to present at interview.
