The guy sat down at his office desk and drew the checks from their envelopes- Electricity, credit card, telephone. He reached across for his monthly tally sheet and began to mark up every payment. If he paid them all he’d have $117 left and 3 other weeks to pay day. The new shoes he’d promised his wife would have to wait a little more but at least he still held down a job.
